Tick

Tick is an automaton of the Ancients, repaired by a Clockmaker: more than a thousand years of bronze and some twenty of patches. Originally it was a joint tuner for the rings of the Astrolabe. Today it follows Nyra, likes the fire, and keeps watch at night; and it has hiccups.

At the end of Book I it is in the tower, beside Nyra, waiting to leave for the Vale of Echoes.
