Queen Morwen
Regent of Nocturna, “until the Moon returns”
Morwen is three hundred and one: human until thirty-two, when her body stopped. She is the oldest of the Longlived and has been regent for 269 years, without leaving the islands of Nocturna since 731. She is not a Weaver; she is a witch of the mist craft. In secret, she is a lens polisher. She lives in the central tower of the Glass Palace, above the Hall of Tides.
At the end of Book I the harbour is frozen. She has performed the Full Night and failed in her aim. She keeps Mira in the palace “as protection”, and gave Nyra a mist horse and a black silk ribbon. By owl, she admits that Halvar was right.
